From Côte d'Ivoire or Ivory Coast, in West Africa, this Dan Mask from circa 1910 has round eyes and protracting lips. The large round eyes suggest that it was used for sport racing and possibly was a portrait of the tribal chief's favorite wife. Wooden stand, custom-fit in NYC, included.
